The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are able to choose the most money-making game every instance.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
